Biographical Sketch:
In his next life, Dennis Suhre is hoping to come back as a parasite, "So someone else can do all the work." In this life, he devotes his energy and work to amphibian ecology and invasive species. After a moment of clarity on an Alaskan fishing boat, Dennis decided to return to school. He earned his B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1998, and will complete his M.S. in Wildlife Ecology in the summer of 2007.
With advisor Dr. Cecil Schwalbe, Dennis's current research focuses on the emigration of bullfrogs in semi-arid desert grasslands and conducts Percent Area Occupied (PAO) research with amphibian species in Arizona with the Amphibian Research and Monitoring Initiative (ARMI). Additionally, he teaches Ecology 181 and 182, "Introduction to Biology" labs at the University of Arizona, and is a member of the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles (SSAR). When not in the field or behind the computer analyzing data, Dennis enjoys photography, spending time with his wife, Wendy, a student at University Medical Center studying internal medicine, and hanging out with his dog, Sitka.
