Following is a list of topical keywords used in this bibliography. A keyword was assigned only when the document addressed the keyword topic in a substantial manner. For example, an article emphasizing singing behavior but making only passing reference to territorial behavior would receive the keyword "song", but not "territory". Similarly, if a document simply summarized general information from other sources, rather than present new information and/or synthesize data on a topic, it was not assigned a keyword for that topic. This occurred in some regional or statewide bird references. The database also contains over 200 geographical keywords, which are not listed below.
