Public Learns about Bats and Cougars at Flagstaff Festival of Science: David Mattson and J. Judson Wynne of SBSC gave presentations to the public at the Lowell Observatory on Friday, Sept. 30th for the Flagstaff Festival of Science. David Mattson presented information on the Cougars of the Flagstaff Uplands
and Judson Wynne discussed Cave Use by Bats and Other Creatures

Pack Rat Piles: Rodent Rubbish Provides Ice Age Thermometer: Ken Cole was interviewed on September 21st by Sara Pratt, a reporter for Geotimes, a publication of the American Geological Society. The interview involved Ken's article recently published in the journal Geology. The interview covered most aspects of his article Carbon isotopes from fossil packrat pellets and elevational movements of Utah agave plants reveal Younger Dryas cold period in Grand Canyon, Arizona
, and may be published in the October issue of the magazine. A related article was published in the September 24th issue of Science News
