About APRS
The APRS tool is used by downloading the software and installing it on your computer. It has a datasheet with 23 questions that should be answered for each non-native plant occurring in or near the site of concern. The questions are organized into three sections:
- I - Site characteristics
- II - Species characteristics
- III - Difficulty of control.
You can find answers for many of these questions for a species on its SWEPIC weed species page.
- The output of APRS is:
- Data sheets for each species (Sample Datasheet)
- Ranking of species by level of impact, potential to be invasive or feasibility of control
- Graphics showing impact, potential to be invasive, & feasibility of control for a suite of species (Sample Graphic)
- Lists of species by user determined groupings.
Please contact Kathryn Thomas regarding any questions.
